What are the effects of laser treatment of stretch marks?

Laser treatment of stretch marks brings the best results. Mostly, in most cases, only one treatment is enough to improve the appearance of our skin. In other cases where stretch marks are very large, further treatments are necessary. There must be a six-month interval between laser removal stretches. The effect of the treatments is not equal for each person. It is dependent on genetic factors, on the degree of skin firmness and elasticity.

 

What to know about stretch stretch prophylaxis

  • Avoid frequent fluctuations in weight and “wonderful” diets
  • Appropriate diet, providing sufficient doses of vitamins (d A, E, PP, B5) and micronutrients (especially zinc and silicon), optionally supplementation of these ingredients in finished medicinal preparations

  • Pregnancy
  • Diabetes
  • Pacemaker
  • Coagulation disorders
  • Epilepsy
  • Some skin diseases (rosacea, vitiligo, psoriasis, allergic changes) if the skin lesions are exposed to direct laser radiation
  • Sunburn (Too much melanin is absorbed by large amounts of energy which can cause skin discoloration). Do not sunbathe (sun, solarium) for 4 weeks before and 4 weeks after surgery
  • Prone to discoloration
  • Active viral or bacterial changes on the skin
  • Use of certain medicines:
    • Medicines to lower blood clotting; anticoagulants eg aspirin
    • steroids
    • Certain photosensitizing drugs: some antibiotics, eg tetracyclines, doxycycline, vitamin A derivatives, some cardiological and other drugs, eg, furagine
    • The use of some herbs: marigold, St. John’s wort

Recommendations for the patient before laser removal of stretch marks

  • Do not sunbathe (sun, solarium) for 4 weeks before surgery
  • Do not use exfoliation (peeling) for a week before surgery
  • When taking anticoagulants, steroids, photosensitizers, they should be discontinued (if possible) 7 days before surgery and then reapplied 14 days after surgery.
  • Shave the skin with a razor 1 day before surgery, do not wax hair with a wax, chemically or with a penis
  • Do not drink alcohol on the day of surgery
  • The treatment is done on clean skin (wash the cosmetics before surgery)

 

A few days after the surgery

  • Do not use soap, alcohol or alcohol based tonics
  • Do not perform peeling and other treatments
  • Do not wipe the area after a sponge or towel treatment
  • Do not irritate the skin in the area around the treatment

 

Recommendations for the patient after laser removal of stretch marks

  • It is not recommended to use a hot bath, sauna 14 days after the treatment
  • Sunbathing (sun, solarium) is not recommended for 4 weeks after surgery
  • It is not recommended to do intensive physical exercise for 7 days after surgery
  • For face treatments, creams with at least SPF 30 should be applied 4 weeks after the treatment
  • Cosmetics can only be used after 24 hours after treatment, alcohol-based preparations should be avoided, skin oil preparations
  • When closing a large number of vessels on the legs for several days after the procedure, it is recommended to wear compression stockings
  • You should apply for a post-operative follow-up visit
